    Rothes is a village in Moray, Scotland, south of Elgin and on the banks of the River Spey. The village has a population of 1209 2001. At the south end of the village lie the remains of Rothes Castle, which dates from the 13th century. Sir Norman Leslie, the castle's owner, was host to King Edward I of England when he stayed there on 29th July 1296 during his triumphal march through
