    Halkirk is a village in central Alberta east of Stettler. It was named for Halkirk, Scotland. It is the birthplace of Shane Doan, a Canadian professional ice hockey forward playing in the NHL for the Phoenix Coyotes. Halkirk has a yearly bullarama in August. After which hundreds of people go party at the brand new beer gardens that was built in the summer of 2006
