It is about a mile east of Dunfermline, and is best known for being former home of the guitarist Stuart Adamson, of The Skids, Big Country and The Raphaels. Amateur golfer Gary Cruickshank also lives here. He scored two consecutive hole in ones in competitive play at the first and second holes at Aberdour Golf Club in 2006
